OITS provides hard drive data recovery services for state agencies through the Enterprise Security Office. This service can recover critical data from media that has been erased, or from logically malfunctioning hard drives that have not been catastrophically damaged or have mechanically failed.

• Analyze media and damage to determine condition of data
• Hard drives are imaged, and files recovered are copied to another hard drive or portable media
• May also be used as part of a forensic process in determining policy compliance or misuse of an agency computer
